When searching for the best laser skin treatment in Naples, Florida, it’s easy to focus on the name of the device. But there’s another factor that can be just as important:
The laser is the tool. Your provider is the person controlling it.
At D-Lux Med Spa, our providers undergo extensive training to understand how different technologies, settings, depths and treatment densities can be customized to safely pursue each patient’s desired outcome.
Why does the laser provider matter?
Think about a laser like an oven.
Two people can use the exact same oven, the exact same ingredients and get very different results. Food can be undercooked, perfectly cooked, or burned.
Laser treatments work similarly. Energy, depth, density, skin type and treatment time all matter. Knowing how to appropriately adjust those variables is where provider training and experience become critical.
What does “full-field” vs. “fractional” laser mean?
Many resurfacing lasers target water within the skin, using energy to heat or vaporize tissue in a controlled manner.
With full-field ablative resurfacing, the entire surface of the treated area is ablated to a selected depth. Depending on the treatment, this can range from very superficial resurfacing to considerably deeper correction.
Fractional treatments treat microscopic portions of the skin while leaving surrounding tissue intact.
With ablative fractional lasers, microscopic channels of tissue are vaporized. With non-ablative fractional lasers, columns of thermal injury are created while the skin’s surface remains intact.
What do laser depth and density mean?
Depth refers to how deeply the treatment reaches, while density describes how much of the treatment area is targeted during a fractional procedure.
Generally, increasing depth and/or density creates a more aggressive treatment with potentially greater correction, but also greater downtime and recovery considerations.
Is BBL a laser?
Technically, no.
BroadBand Light (BBL®) is a light-based technology rather than a laser. It can be used to target chromophores associated with brown pigmentation and redness/vascular concerns, while certain protocols may also support improvements in overall skin quality.
At D-Lux Med Spa in Naples, we believe sophisticated technology deserves sophisticated training.
Because choosing the right device matters. Knowing exactly how to use it matters even more.
