Custom combo treatments: Biostimulators combined with energy-based devices

SylfirmX

Here at D-Lux we LOVE combining biostimulators like Sculptra and Radiesse with our energy-based devices such as RFMN (Radiofrequency Microneedling –Sylfirm X), Sciton Broad Band Light (BBL), MOXI, and HALO fractional lasers can be a comprehensive approach for rejuvenating and enhancing the skin’s appearance.

We find huge benefits to treating our patients holistically. Stimulating collagen from the intrinsically the inside with the injectable biostimulator, as well as extrinsically, or from the outside with the energy-based device, polishing and improving the surface of our skin! Here’s a general overview of how these treatments can complement each other:

Biostimulators (Sculptra and Radiesse):

These dermal fillers stimulate collagen production and add volume to the skin.

Sculptra typically requires multiple sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, for optimal results.

Radiesse provides immediate volume and stimulates collagen over time.

Energy-Based Devices:

RFMN (Radiofrequency Microneedling):

Combines radiofrequency energy with microneedling to tighten and rejuvenate the skin.

Enhances collagen production and improves skin texture.

Broad Band Light (BBL):

Targets pigmentation irregularities, sun damage, and redness.

Can improve skin tone and reduce the appearance of age spots and redness.

MOXI:

A non-ablative fractional laser (1927) that treats various skin issues, including fine lines, pigmentation, and texture.

Requires minimal downtime compared to more aggressive lasers.

HALO Fractional Laser:

Duel wavelength non-ablative combined (1470) with ablative fractional lasers (2940) create micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

Effective for improving skin texture, reducing wrinkles, and treating scars.

Combining these treatments can provide comprehensive results, addressing various skin concerns simultaneously.

For example, you might start with biostimulators like Sculptra and Radiesse to build collagen and add volume. Then, you can use energy-based devices to further improve skin quality, texture, and tone.

Energy-based devices also help remove sun damage. The choice of which specific devices and fillers to use and the sequence of treatments will depend on your skin type, goals, and the expertise of your practitioner.

Remember that post-treatment care and maintenance are essential for optimal and long-lasting results. Discuss the expected outcomes, potential side effects, and aftercare requirements with your provider.

We will guide you through the process, discussing expectations, timing, and any expected downtime. We will come up with a plan and put you on a schedule based on your individual goals.

Biostimulators: Sculptra vs Radiesse

Biostimulators Sculptra vs Radiesse

Sculptra and Radiesse are both injectable “biostimulators.” They differ from traditional fillers because they stimulate or trigger your own body to make its OWN collagen!  Used for cosmetic purposes, but they have some differences in terms of their composition, intended uses, and longevity…read on…

Sculptra:

  • Composition: Sculptra is made from poly-L-lactic acid, which is a biocompatible synthetic material. It is similar in structure to dissolvable suture material. Which has been used in surgical procedures for many years. (If you have ever had surgery and they didn’t need to remove your sutures you know what I’m talking about.) Over time, it breaks down naturally into lactic acid, CO2 and water.
  •
  • Treatment Areas: Sculptra is primarily used to stimulate collagen production by stimulating the skin fibroblast cells and add volume to the face. It is often used for treating deep wrinkles, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and sunken cheeks. It’s also used to restore volume loss in areas affected by fat atrophy.
  • Results: Sculptra doesn’t provide immediate results. It works by gradually stimulating collagen production in the treated areas, so the full effects become visible over several months. Typically 2-3 treatment session are needed spaced about 6-10 weeks apart. Typically 2 vials of Sculptra are needed each treatment.  Results can last up to two years or more. For best results we recommend maintenance treatments once a year with 1-2 vials to maintain results.

Radiesse:

  • Composition: Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. It is also considered biocompatible and breaks down into calcium and phosphate ions.
  • Treatment Areas: Radiesse is primarily used to add volume to areas of the face, such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and cheeks. It can also be used for hand rejuvenation.
  • Results: Radiesse provides immediate results because of the gel component which works as a filler, adding volume instantly. It also stimulates collagen and elastin production over time, which can extend the duration of results. The effects can last around 12 months.
  • Number of Sessions: Most patients achieve their desired results with one treatment session, however maintenance are typically required every 6-9 months and multiple sessions may be necessary to achieve desired results.

Key Differences:

  • Composition: Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, while Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres. This difference in composition can influence how they interact with the body and the longevity of their effects.
  • Results: Sculptra provides a more gradual onset of results, while Radiesse offers immediate volume enhancement. The duration of results varies, with Sculptra typically lasting longer.
  • Treatment Plan: Sculptra usually requires multiple sessions to achieve optimal results, while Radiesse often requires fewer treatment sessions.
  • Areas of Use: Both products can be used for similar facial areas, but Sculptra is more commonly used for overall facial volumization, while Radiesse may be favored for specific lines and wrinkles.

The choice between Sculptra and Radiesse should be made with a thorough consultation with a medical professional, taking into consideration your specific cosmetic goals and preferences. We can assess your individual needs and recommend the most suitable option for you.

Why Sylfirm X Radiofrequency Microneedling is the right treatment for you and why you should be combining it with your laser or light-based treatments.

SylfirmX

What is the Sylfirm X Dual Wave Radiofrequency Microneedling System?

The Sylfirm X is a new device that has taken microneedling treatments to the next level through the combination of advanced technologies. Radiofrequency energy penetrates into deep layers of the skin creating collagen-stimulating micro-injuries which target and treat the affected skin tissue. This is achieved with gold, independently controlled needles and dual-wave technology (ultra-short pulse and continuous wave modes).

You might be wondering how this is different from other microneedling treatments. The advanced technology of Sylfirm X results in more effective, comfortable, and targeted treatments than traditional microneedling in addition to shorter recovery periods and a less painful experience.

Why is it right for me?

The Sylfirm X addresses a wide range of skin conditions that are often difficult to treat. The dual-wave radiofrequency microneedling system has been proven to treat pigment conditions such as melasma and rosacea. Other common uses are seen to minimize and improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pores, skin texture and laxity. The Sylfirm X can even reach and tighten tricky areas like the eyelids and neck.

This advanced, minimally-invasive treatment is designed to achieve radiant, beautiful skin over a short period of time. We recommend anywhere from 3 or more sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart or until optimal results are seen. Results are continually observed over the next few months following treatment. We recommend a series of Sylfirm X annually.

‘Stack’ with other treatments!

Optimize your results of the Sylfirm X by stacking, or combining RF microneedling with other non-surgical, skin-enhancing treatments. Common combinations with the Sylfirm X include injectables (Sculptra or Radiesse bio stimulators) and laser and light-based procedures.

If you are looking to achieve optimal results for your skin by treating skin texture, pigmentation, and age markers such as fine lines and wrinkles, then we highly recommend stacking the Sylfirm X with the Sciton BBL, MOXI, or BOTH!  We call this custom combination the D-Lux Bright and Bright and the D-Lux Bright and Tight PLUS!

What is Moxi?

The Moxi is a laser treatment that uses gentle, non-ablative, fractionated wavelengths to deliver texture and tonal improvements to the skin. The Moxi is perfect for:

  • Correcting sun damage
  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Texture issues
  • Sign of aging

The treatment is quick and easy, lasting between 12-15 minutes with minimal discomfort and recovery time. Moxi revitalizes all skin types and can be customized to your personal skincare needs by stacking the treatment with Sylfirm X microneedling.

What is Sciton BBL?

Another revolutionary age-reversing and tone/texture-correcting treatment is the Sciton BBL (broadband light). This photo facial uses multiple wavelengths of light to pass through the layers of the skin to address skin concerns with long-lasting results!

The multi-pass approach targets each layer of the skin individually with a specific intention.

  • Base pass: Targets the appearance of the skin overall.
  • Corrective Vascular Pass:  Tackles any small visible vessels and redness.
  • Corrective Pigment Pass: Corrects pigmentation issues, acne scars, freckles, age spots, and more.
  • Optional SkinTyte Pass: Stimulates the tissue at a deep level with deep-built heating.

After a few treatments, the skin appears brighter and even-toned. A study by Stanford University, published in the Wall Street Journal, showed that after “Forever Young” treatments, genes are actually being mapped younger!

Stack the Sciton BBL with Sylfirm X and say hello to bright, tight, and even-toned skin!

HALO™ vs MOXI™: Which laser treatment is right for you?

Here at D-Lux Medspa in Naples, FL, we are focused on providing the best services and treatments for each patient.

With so many options, you may be wondering which laser is right for you. We offer both MOXI and HALO laser skin resurfacing treatments at our medspa. Depending on your goals and skincare needs, we will recommend a customized laser skin resurfacing treatment to suit your needs.

Please request a consultation or call  239-776-4956

MOXI™is 1927nm non-ablative laser, which means it does not create an open wound in the skin. MOXI uses a random fractionated pattern at a specific strength to distribute microscopic depots of laser energy on the skin surface. This results in no actual open wound. But it creates a MEND that is a microscopic epidermal tissue response that really brightens the skin. This is like “lightly” aerating a lawn.

The HALO™ Laser is a hybrid of ablative (2949nm) and non-ablative wavelengths (1470nm), and penetrates deeper into the skin than MOXI.  It also uses a fractionated pattern at specific strengths that create MENDs. The HALO has one laser wavelength that goes deeper to treat damage at the dermal level and one that treats at the surface of the skin. This would be more like aggressively “aerating” the lawn. We can customize HALO to each patient’s specific needs.

MOXI Overview

MOXI Candidates

MOXI is the ultimate “lunch break” laser skin resurfacing procedure for men and women in Naples that is great for those looking to prevent minimal signs of aging or improve sun damage. It is safe on all skin types. This revolutionary laser is becoming the “go to” treatment for melasma as it does not produce high amounts of heat that can trigger hyperpigmentation associated with melasma.

Does MOXI Require Downtime?

It has a minimal recovery period that requires little to no downtime. You will experience some redness and warming of the treated area for approximately 3-4 days after a MOXI treatment.

What Are the Expected Outcomes of MOXI?

You will notice a healthy glow to your skin after the MOXI. This is a minimally invasive treatment designed to improve early signs of aging, so you will not see a dramatic improvement after MOXI. It is great for maintaining youthful skin.

HALO Overview

HALO Candidates

The HALO laser treats sun damage, fine lines, deeper wrinkles and pores in men and women of all ages. In addition to what MOXI can do, HALO can also target skin lesions, scars, facial redness and small veins.

Does HALO Require Downtime?

HALO has a slightly longer recovery period than MOXI. Since this treatment can be tunable to the patient’s specific concerns and has the ability to be more ablative, the downtime for HALO is approximately 5-7 days. During this time, patients can resume their normal routines and wear light makeup.

What Are the Expected Outcomes of HALO?

After a HALO laser treatment at our Naples medical spa, you will see significantly improved tone, skin texture, and a decreased appearance of scars and dark spots in as little as 10 days.

How Do I Choose the Right Laser for My Needs?

MOXI is a great way to treat small areas of concern, including texture, fine lines, and wrinkles, or prevent skin damage and signs of aging before they occur.  A good rule of thumb is if the condition of your skin reflects your age, then the MOXI laser is for you.

MOXI will maintain your skin and help to prevent further damage.  It is safe for all skin types.

HALO is the best option to reverse damage from years of sun exposure and premature aging. If you feel your skin is looking older than your age. this is the right treatment for you.  The HALO laser targets the skin at a deeper level than MOXI. The extra downtime from HALO laser treatments is well worth the benefits it offers for repairing damaged skin.

Our team of advanced laser experts at D-Lux Medspa are highly trained to help guide you towards the right treatment. During your consultation, we will perform a VISIA® Skin Analysis. VISIA is the best way for us to determine which treatment is right for your skin. Using the results from your VISIA analysis, we will recommend the best treatment option for your needs.

The bottom line is, we recommend you look at what your skin concerns are, what you want to treat, what your expected outcomes are, and how much downtime you can afford so that you can make the best decision to suit your aesthetic needs.

Can HALO and MOXI Be Combined with Other Treatments?

Absolutely! HALO and MOXI treatments can both be combined with Forever Young BBL and BBL HERO laser skin resurfacing the same day, in fact we highly recommend it. We recommend waiting 2 weeks before or after your HALO or MOXI laser skin treatment to have Dermal Filler injections.

How Many MOXI and HALO Treatments Will I Need? And How Often?

For preventing signs of aging, D-Lux Medspa we recommend a series of 3 MOXI treatments per year.

For mild-to-moderate sun damage and addressing fine lines and wrinkles, we recommend 1 HALO treatment per year.

What Areas Can Be Treated with MOXI and HALO?

The face, neck, and chest can be treated with both MOXI and HALO lasers. Other body areas can also be treated. We recommend you schedule a consultation with one of our expert providers to learn more about your treatment options.

How Much Does a HALO or MOXI Treatment Cost?

At D-Lux Medspa in Naples FL HALO laser treatments range in cost from $1500 for full face to $2500 for face, neck, and chest.

MOXI laser treatment starts at $800 for Moxi alone or $1200 for our signature  Moxi/BBL combination treatment.

Do MOXI and HALO Treatments Hurt?

MOXI is a very mild laser treatment that does not hurt. During a MOXI treatment, you may feel a slight prickling sensation on the treated area.  Topical numbing cream can be used, but for most MOXI treatments, it is considered a very tolerable procedure that doesn’t require numbing.

HALO laser patients often report feeling mild to moderate heat with a tingling sensation in the treated area.  We apply a topical numbing cream before the treatment to reduce discomfort. During treatment, most patients have expressed that they feel no discomfort, with some reporting mild discomfort. After your HALO treatment, we apply cold air or ice packs to calm the warming feeling on the treated area.

At D-Lux Medspa, we also offer Pro-Nox to HALO patients if they want additional relief during treatment. Pro-Nox is a patient-controlled 50/50 mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen. Pro-Nox helps minimize anxiety and discomfort associated with nonsurgical treatments such as HALO laser skin resurfacing.  Patient who choose to use Pro-Nox may drive themselves to and from their appointment.

The D-Lux Team team performs more Sciton laser treatments than any other laser skin team in the Naples, FL. We provide safety and excellence in everything we do. Please contact us at 2397764956 or request an in-person or virtual consultation online today.

What is hyperhidrosis?

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating. Whether the average person is truly diagnosed, both men and women suffer from hyperhidrosis, sometimes without even knowing it! About 3% of Americans suffer from Hyperhidrosis. Excessive sweating is most common in underarms, hands and soles of the feet.

How do you get Hyperhidrosis?

There is no real medical cause for how one gets Hyperhidrosis, however it can be inherited through genetics. The excessive sweating can take place at unexpected times with no real reason or rhyme. This can be frustrating, embarrassing and hard to manage.

What can I do to help my Hyperhidrosis?

There are a few things that can help Hyperhidrosis. You can start by getting a strong antiperspirant prescription from over the counter. The over the counter antiperspirants are stronger than what you can buy off of the shelf. For some individuals this can be enough to help their hyperhidrosis.

Targeted laser therapy is another option that can help block these glands. This laser therapy is considered minimally invasive, making it less appealing. This typically makes Botox be what works best and is most desirable.

Why is Botox the best to help with my Hyperhidrosis?

Although Hyperhidrosis doesn’t need a rhyme or reason to kick in, it usually starts when the nervous system activates glands, which causes the body’s temperature to rise. When individuals have over-active glands, these glands don’t slow down or stop – yep you guessed actually causes one to sweat even more! This is how the term ‘excessive sweating’ comes full circle.

For most, Botox is the best type of treatment for Hyperhidrosis as it paralyzes these nerves, so they won’t be able to signal sweat glands, when sweat glands don’t get signaled, we don’t sweat! TADA!Botox lasts 3 – 6 months. So imagine only having a few appointments a year, that keeps you from sweating!

Let’s talk!

The Naples Beauty Injector is very familiar with our patients having Hyperhidrosis. We are happy to set up a consultation for Botox injections for those who struggle with Hyperhidrosis. We understand how frustrating this can be, and are here to help you feel like your most confident self!

What you need to know about dilutions.

botox and filler dilutions

If you’ve discovered this blog, it probably means that you are a beauty guru who is concerned with their image. We totally know what that’s like, which is why we are here to educate you even further. So, since we know that you’re a beauty guru, you’re most likely informed of what Botox and fillers are. If you don’t, keep reading!

Botox vs. Fillers

Botox and fillers can be commonly confused with one another, however they are two different things. Botox is used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Fillers are used to make an area look more full, and less thinned out. You may be thinking, “Hmm..what’s best for me”? We will consult with you, as to what’s best for YOU, as there is no one size fits all approach.

Dilutions at D-Lux

Since we don’t believe in the one size fits all approach, we develop dilutions for each patient that seeks treatment with us. Dilutions are when the dosage of botox or filler is altered to fit an individual’s needs. We all have different goals, different face structures and different skin, which is why a personalized dilution makes all the difference in your results.

For example, a stronger muscle (like the one between your eyebrows that causes you to frown) will require a more concentrated dilution and dosing. A larger flatter muscle (such as your forehead) requires a less concentrated dilution and a broader application of dose.

Certain fillers, when diluted properly with sterile saline, can be injected to tighten saggy, crepey skin in areas such as the neck, chest and hands. This work’s by stimulating the body’s natural collagen, filling in areas that may have experienced fat loss over time.

How do I know what dilution is best for me?

You probably don’t, but we are the experts and are more than happy to help you! We utilize specific, custom dilutions based on the area of the face being treated, and the effect it will have on the underlying muscles and overall structure. We examine the whole face to create balance and harmony. We believe in customized D-Lux Dilutions! We have custom laser combos, custom filler and customizing your toxin dosage and dilution for YOU is our specialty!

Book an appointment with us, and we can talk all about all things Botox, Fillers and D-Lux Dilutions! We recognize your face is a unique piece of art, and we want to help you bring out your most confident self!

Lip Filler vs. Lip Flip

Lip Fillers , or Lip Injections, is when a semi-permanent  filler is injected into your lips. The most common Lip Fillers are made up of Hyaluronic Acid, which is naturally produced in our bodies. Hyaluronic Acid creates a more plump and hydrated effect.

A Lip Flip is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that doesn’t use dermal filler, just botox or Dysport! The purpose of a Lip Flip is to help create a fuller-looking lip without the use of filler! A Lip Flip is a small cosmetic procedure that can make a big difference!

How lip flips work

Injections of Botox or Dysport are made in very small quantities around the corners of the mouth and near the cupid’s bow. By placing the injections in these areas, the upper lip will be able to relax causing the lip to flip upwards. This creates a fuller, poutier look.

Determine if You are a Good Candidate For a Lip Flip

A Lip Flip is for you if:

  • Your upper lip disappears when you smile.
  • You are looking for a lip enhancement without committing to Lip Fillers.
  • You wished your lips look fuller and poutier.
  • You want to experiment with the look of your lips.

Get fuller lips with a quick and easy non-invasive Lip Flip procedure, did we mention they aren’t nearly as expensive as Lip Fillers are? Lip Flips range between  $80 – $500, depending on what type of product is being used and how much. On average Lip Fillers range between $450 – $700.

How long do results last

With a Lip Flip  being a simpler cosmetic procedure than Lip Fillers, results will last you between one to three months! By using only botox and our mouths constantly moving, the Lip Flip  wears quicker than other cosmetic lip procedures. This is the perfect amount of time to gain confidence and decide if you want to continue with Lip Flips or make a bigger commitment and get Lip Filler.

Booking a lip flip

It’s important to keep in mind to book a Lip Flip with someone who is certified to perform the minimally invasive procedure. To get the results you want, be sure to discuss your goals and how you want your lips to look beforehand.

Here at D-Lux Medspa, our certified professionals are ready to complete your Lip Flip, giving you the results you desire.

Everything You Need to Know About QWO Cellulite Treatment

QWO Cellulite Treatment

Most women have a common enemy: cellulite. The stubborn, dimpled, cottage cheese-looking skin seems impossible to get rid of. Cellulite can also affect men, but it’s more common in women because women’s fat cells and connective tissue are layered vertically.

There are several factors that may increase cellulite in women. Some factors include: how active you are, if you smoke, what your diet is like, and of course, the one we hate to hear, genetics.

There are so many creams, scrubs, and brushes that claim to reduce the appearance of cellulite. You can spend all of your free time trying to reduce the appearance of cellulite, which becomes so frustrating! What if we told you there was a minimally invasive procedure that takes very little time to see results?

A Lifestyle Change Compared to An Overnight Fix

Women want overnight or quick fix to reduce the appearance of their cellulite. The sad truth is that there is no overnight fix. Getting rid of cellulite takes quite some time, and for some of us, it may never completely go away.

It is important to maintain a healthy diet that is full of fiber and water. It can also be beneficial to pair working out with dry brushing. Keep in mind that reducing the appearance of cellulite is a lifestyle change, not an overnight fix. (Yes, this means you have to be truly committed!)

The Qwo Treatment

Qwo (pronounced: woah with a Q)  is the first and only FDA approved injectable procedure that helps reduce the appearance of cellulite. For best results, the Qwo treatment is to be performed three times, 21 days apart. This minimally invasive injectable primarily targets the buttocks, which is a main area of concern for most women.

Once injected, it works with your body’s enzymes to target beneath the surface of the skin. Cellulite is formed under the surface, causing the appearance of lumps and bumps. The Qwo treatment has collagenases enzymes that release fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells and stimulating the growth of new collagen causing the skin to be smoothed out.

How Long Until I See Results?

An individual treatment takes about 10 minutes and you should be back on your feet the next day! Be prepared to have some bruising, swelling and soreness after your procedure. For about 30 minutes of total treatment, you will see results in about 10 weeks that last a year or more!

Say Good-bye to Useless Cellulite Products and Say Hello to Qwo!

The Qwo treatment will help you get the results that you desire within a short amount of time. What more could you want? Say good-bye to the creams, oils, scrubs, brushes and rollers! Save time and money by replacing trial and error approaches with the Qwo treatment! Let us help you reduce the appearance of cellulite with Qwo!
